Entrepreneurship Talk at Ivy Prep

Last past week I spend the day talking to 7th grade students at the new Charter School in Norcross GA – Ivy Preparatory Academy Founded, two years ago by Nina Gilbert.  In talking to Nina, it had been a dream of hers for the past 10 years, and after a great deal of persistence and vision, she was able to establish an impressive institution.  The students were very polite, well mannered, and asked an enormous amount of questions.

I asked each classroom “how many of your parents own their own company, or are entrepreneurs”?  In every classroom the number was between 30% and 50%.  It just goes to show how important small businesses are and the jobs that they create in America and here in Atlanta.

When asked who had aspirations for college - every singe student, from every single class room – eagerly raised their hand.  It looks like Ivy Prep is doing something right…

I wish the students and faculty continued success!
