A new “Beauty and the Beast” music video featuring Ariana Grande and John Legend is taking the internet by storm.
The promo piece for the upcoming live-action Disney remake of the cherished 1991 “Beauty and the Beast” has been seen by over two million people since Disney released it on Sunday
The video opens with Grande perched atop the balcony of the Beast’s castle, dressed as a princess in a full red gown. A group of dancers, also dressed in red, encircle Grande, creating a rose with their costumes.
Legend is shown inside the grand ballroom, where he plays the piano. Grande later joins him to sing alongside while Belle (played by Emma Watson) and the Beast (Dan Stevens) dance in the background.
Grande and Legend’s version of this classic titular song is as ornate as the castle’s décor, while still remaining faithful to the original, Grammy-winning duet, which was performed by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.
Viewers are immersed in that iconic Disney style we all know and love – everything is splendor, everything is a fairytale. In true Disney form, viewers become enchanted. Moments from the movie, like scenes of anthropomorphic dinnerware, take us to a place where anything is possible.
So go ahead, take a look at the video and listen to this “song as old as rhyme.” The “Beauty and the Beast” soundtrack – featuring Dion, Josh Groban, and Audra McDonald, among others – is available Friday. The movie is slated to hit theaters a week after, on March 17.
