Pinkie the rare pink bottlenose dolphin was recently spotted in Lousiana’s, Lake Calcasieu. The water in this lake is slightly salty so it’s comfortable for dolphins to live there. Pinkie was first spotted in 2007 and became an instant sensation due to her bright pink coloring.
It’s believed she’s albino, even though she has a darker, richer pink than most animals with albinism. But according to Erik Rue, the charter boat captain who first spotted her, she seems perfectly healthy.
Pinkie seems to be living a normal dolphin life despite her rare but amazing coloring.
