‘SNL’ invents a hilarious parody “Amazon Echo” advertisement for old people

Quick! Name three stereotypes about older Americans. If you said seniors are technophobic, live in the past, and can’t remember names, congratulations — you think like a Saturday Night Live comedy writer. The venerable late night show recently did one of its signature mock advertisements for “Amazon Echo Silver,” a version of the Amazon device that allows users to perform all sorts of digital tasks (info-seeking, shopping, setting timers, et cetera) using voice commands.

It might not provide an accurate depiction of the Greatest Generation, but boy is it funny. And, honestly, all of us, regardless of age, can probably relate to some of the ribbing.

Watch it, and see what you think.
